Air raids on four Tiger targets - Daily News- 2008/08/21

The Sri Lanka Air Force said that they had accurately engaged four identified LTTE targets using fighter jets and MI-24 attack helicopters yesterday afternoon in the surrounding areas of Nachchikuda and Tunukkai.

SLAF spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara told the Daily News that around 4.45 pm fighter jets carried out air strikes on a LTTE bunker line three Km East of Nachchikuda area and at the same time fighter jets also had targeted a bunker line three Km east of Tunukkai. Meanwhile MI-24 attack helicopters had accurately targeted a LTTE gathering point one Km North of Nachchikuda around 5.00 p.m Nanayakkara said. Air Force MI 24 Helicopters again had carried out air strikes on LTTE Strong points 03 Km East of Nachchikuda area at around 5.00 p.m.
