Four Tiger suspects arrested - Daily News- 2008/08/19

A special Police team on Sunday arrested four key LTTE suspects wanted in connection with 13 large scale bomb explosions that took place in the hill country including Kandy and Matale.

These suspects have been arrested in Matale, Rathwatta and Elkaduwa areas.

In addition, Police arrested six LTTE suspects in Rathwatta area several days ago along with 13 Kg of high explosives, 30 detonators, 11 feet long detonator codes and cyanide capsules.

Investigations have revealed that these arrested suspects are linked to 13 explosions that had taken place in Kandy and suburbs including the bomb explosions of buses in Dambulla, Digampatha and Polgolla areas.

These suspects have also been involved in the bomb explosion that occurred in a train at Katugastota and launch bomb attacks to transformers installed in Panwila and Alawathugoda areas.

These suspects had also attempted to assassinate Government Defence Spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
