Cosas de la pandemia. Con este reloj Q&Q de la casa Citizen me casé en marzo 1990. Es uno de los más queridos de mi colección, sino el más. Recuerdo haberlo comprado a un viejito que me traía relojes cuando trabajaba en la UMCE como periodista (debe haber sido entre 1988 y 1989). Sus visitas eran un verdadero festín para mí. Su caja de exhibición y las facilidades de pago que me daba todavía las tengo en la memoria. Lamentablemente no retuve su nombre, pero lo rememoro con cariño.   El reloj estaba nuevo con un modelo de unos años antes, muy típico de la estética y tamaño de las piezas que usábamos en los ochenta.  Naturalmente su forma rectangular remite al tank de Cartier, misma que aparecía con frecuencia por esos años en los Caravelle de Bulova. Los números en romanos son una marca inconfundible de esos primeros homage.
La Japan CBM Corporation lanzó en octubre de 1976 su marca de relojes Q&Q a los mercados mundiales. En 1999, Q&Q alcanzó ventas de 20 millones de unidades y en la actualidad es una de las marcas más importantes de relojes en el mundo. Q&Q es líder mundial en ventas de relojería con precios accesibles, como los de un recién egresado de Periodismo que recién empezaba a trabajar en los ochenta. 
Por aquellos años  Q&Q era uno de los principales fabricantes de relojes de cuarzo analógico, y campeaba en el de los relojes de cuarzo digital. Se trata de muy buenas piezas dentro de los relojes de gama baja. Actualmente vende unos 12 millones de relojes al año.
Un reloj de gama baja no es necesariamente un buen reloj. Como tampoco el precio elevado lo garantiza.  
Los relojes Q&Q utilizan maquinarias miyota japonesas que suelen dar buenas prestaciones a un coste realmente competitivo.

Características.  Caja rectangular con caratula en negro, dos numerales en romanos el XII y el VI, el resto en laminas metálicas doradas sobrepuestas muy finamente, manecillas tipo dauphine.La caratula tiene una serie de laminas verticales en gris intercalas con el fondo negro que le dan un carácter muy elegante por los juegos de luz que producen al poner el reloj en distintos ángulos.  La corona no está grabada y se introduce bajo la caja haciéndola prácticamente imperceptible si se mira el reloj desde arriba.
