Elena Rodríguez, Convocada Para La Novedosa Skills Challenge 2020

Elena Rodríguez  ha sido convocada para disputar la novedosa Skills Challenge 2020 con la selección española U-17, que se concentrará del 17 al 23 de agosto en L'Alquería del Basket de Valencia, sede de la competición online en la que participarán combinados de todo el mundo.
El torneo, que se celebrará vía streaming con una serie de concursos de habilidades y cumpliendo con todos los protocolos de seguridad y prevención ante la Covid-19, contará con una primera fase de grupos (18 y 19 de agosto), cuartos de final (21 de agosto), semifinales (22 de agosto) y la gran final (23 de agosto).
A pesar que la FIBA canceló todos los certámenes internacionales previstos para este verano, en el que conjunto español tenía un reto con la disputa del Mundial que debía disputarse en Rumanía, las mejores jugadoras del país con edades entre los 14 y 18 años trabajarán juntas en las instalaciones de Valencia, donde dejarán ver su evolución de cara a las citas del próximo verano.
En la Skills Challenge 2020, que servirá como incentivo adicional para las jóvenes jugadoras y para fortalecer sus lazos en el combinado nacional, participarán los veinte equipos de debían haber estado presentes en la cita mundialista de Rumanía, suspendida por la pandemia del coronavirus, y se podrá seguir en directo por el canal oficial de YouTube de la FIBA.
Por otra parte, la joven agüimense, que el pasado año debutó en Liga Femenina 2 con el SPAR Gran Canaria, espera con ilusión el comienzo del nuevo curso baloncestístico, en el que el representativo isleño regresará a la máxima categoría del baloncesto femenino español, y que podría llegar a ser un paso más en su carrera deportiva si cuenta con la confianza del técnico, José Carlos Ramos.
