El auge del consumo cultural entre los chilenos es una realidad inmanente. Estamos viviendo una época de oro para las organizaciones culturales que saben interpretar adecuadamente los intereses y necesidades de las audiencias. Una crónica reciente en Chile da buena cuenta de este momento y aporta cifras que pueden ser de interés.








Desde el Centro Cultural La Moneda no pensaban que podrían superar la cifra lograda en la exposición "Antiguo Egipto", la cual tuvo un total de 511.000 visitantes, pero el talento y fama de Andy Warhol fue más "popular" que el arte de la antigua civilización.
Hubo méritos de sobra para lograr este nuevo record. Las obras llegaron desde "The Andy Warhol MUseum"de Pittsburgh, con la promesa de nunca más sacarlas desde ese lugar por un tema de conservación. Bajo ese marco, fue que llegaron hasta Santiago las más celebradas creaciones del artista, como los retratos de Marilyn Monroe, MAO, Elvis Presley y por su puesto la reconocida lata de Campbell´s.
La muestra estuvo 5 meses en exposición – incluso en menor tiempo que la de Egipto – y fue suficiente para marcar un nuevo y difícil record a superar. "Estos últimos dos años han sido los más exitosos en cuanto a público, pues hemos tenido más de un 1 millón de visitas, el público ha premiado las grandes exposiciones".
Las cifras son increíbles. Una tendencia que se impuso en el 2009 con la muestra "Antigua China y el Ejercito Terracota", la cual logró reunir a más de 360 mil personas entre el 2009 y 2010.

1- Warhol (2017): 525.000 visitantes
2- Antiguo Egipto (2016): 511.000 visitantes mil
3- Antigua China y Ejercito de Terracota (2009 – 2010): 360.000 visitantes
4- Picasso (2016 – 2017): 352.000 visitantes
Una difícil tarea tiene la nueva exposición del CCPLM: "El mito de Roma", una muestra traída desde los Museos Vaticanos, la cual incluye 146 piezas, entre las que se encuentran pinturas, cerámica, esculturas en mármol, bronce, entre otras que transportarán a los visitantes hasta la mítica capital del imperio.
